Students are at the heart of all we do in international education. A positive, holistic experience is not only critical to individual student success, but to the long-term sustainability of international education in Australia.
IEAA’s Student Life Network supports international education professionals working across all facets of the international student lifecycle. The network brings together like-minded colleagues to identify, discuss and disseminate issues of concern, best practice and innovative solutions to enhancing the international student experience.
The Student Life Network is a forum for practitioners to discuss issues of mutual concern relating to the international student experience. This includes, but is not limited to:
Network Conveners represent professionals across each of the IEAA Networks and are responsible for setting the agenda for network focussed events, research and insights and identifying relevant topics and speakers for the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC).
Convener
Alex Reeman Clark is the General Manager, Student Experience at Kaplan Business School, where he leads a national team of over 80 staff across six campuses. With more than 15 years of leadership experience spanning the sporting, medical, and education sectors, Alex is passionate about creating authentic student engagement and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams. Under his leadership, KBS has received global recognition, including the 2021 PIEoneer Award for Student Support and the 2024 Business School of the Year. A recipient of the Kaplan Way Award for Student Success, Alex is driven by purpose, empathy, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Deputy Convener
Kailey is Manager, Student Services and Engagement, Government Education and Training International, Tasmanian Department for Education, Children and Young People. She has worked in Canada in the International Education sector in a mid-sized institution in a large city for several years. Her role in Tasmania's Department of Education focuses primarily on School and TAFE students in a more regional setting. She is an IEAA Associate Fellow.
Susan is Senior Talent and Employability Officer at Study Queensland. She has previously held roles at QUT and BONDSURE. She has also served as Co-Chair of the IEAA Young Professionals chapter in Queensland. She is an IEAA Associate Fellow.
