Global interest in transnational education is growing rapidly, whether it's through international partnerships, offshore branch campuses or the proliferation of online learning that transcends borders.
IEAA's Transnational Education (TNE) Network provides a forum to exchange views and ideas about TNE strategy and management, policy and practice – including compliance with Australian and host country legal requirements – and encourages participation across all sectors of the industry. Membership is open to IEAA members and non-members.
The network aims to:
Network Conveners represent professionals across each of the IEAA Networks and are responsible for setting the agenda for network focussed events, research and insights and identifying relevant topics and speakers for the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC).
Convener
Caryn has worked in international education for over 25 years in a variety of roles including teaching, teacher training, academic coordination and TNE partnership management. Caryn has been involved in the leadership of the TNE Network for over 10 years and is a highly regarded TNE expert. She joined Victoria University as Director, Transnational Education Partnerships in June 2019, and oversees partnerships in Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, and India. Prior to this, Caryn worked as Associate Director, Partnerships and Development at Monash College and spent 9 years at RMIT, managing TNE partnerships in the Asian region.
Deputy Convener
Emma has been involved in transnational education for over 18 years, gaining a wealth of experience across the higher education and vocational education sectors at both metropolitan and regional Australian universities. Emma is the Associate Director, International Partnerships at RMIT University, and she oversees partnership operations in India, China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore and Sri Lanka including engagement with the University campuses in Vietnam and Europe. She is also responsible for quality assurance, policy development and offshore regulatory matters for TNE partnerships.
Peter brings a range of experience and perspective from over 20 years in executive and board roles including professional services, government, start-ups and listed companies. Peter brings a range of experience and perspective from over 20 years in executive and board roles including professional services, government, start-ups and listed companies. Peter is Chief Executive Officer for UTS College and has oversight for their strategy for cross-border programs including partnerships in Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, China, Nepal, and Myanmar as well as the assessment and development of new partnerships.
