The IEAA Marketing and Recruitment forum will focus on finding the balance between bytes and beings and how to utilise technology for efficient communication and data-driven decision-making, while ensuring that human interaction remains at the forefront of recruitment efforts.

Bosco is a seasoned digital strategist, disruptive storyteller, marketing futurist, and international speaker with a background in design thinking and digital growth.

Chris Bandy

Chris has over 12 years of experience, with extensive exposure in government and international education sectors. Most recently, Chris was the Investment and Trade Commissioner of South Asia and the Middle East, and Director at Invest and Trade for The Government of Western Australia. He has represented the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a Diplomat / Trade and Investment Commissioner in Indonesia. Prior to working at Austrade, Chris was Regional Manager for the Middle East, South Asia and Africa at UNSW Australia, where he oversaw UNSW’s expansion into West Africa and maintained engagement with UNSW’s network of partners across his regions. Chris has a Bachelor’s Degree in Asian Studies (Indonesian) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Curtin University and speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia.

Bronwyn Bartsch, IEAA-SF

Bronwyn Bartsch currently holds the role of Director Global Engagement at ACU. With responsibility for the implementation of global strategies, international partnerships and international operations, Bronwyn has substantial experience in managing offshore teaching partnerships, international relationships, study abroad programs and managing large multi-function international offices. With over 15 years of experience in international education at three Australian universities, along with previous finance and agribusiness trading sector experience, Bronwyn has worked with many different sectors, always with a focus on partnerships to achieve outcomes. She has also previously held the Deputy Chair and Treasurer for AUIDF.

Derek Bell

Derek Bell, a Marketing Technologist with 25+ years of experience, bridges the gap between technology and business in consulting. Previously, she was the Director, International Business Development at Torrens Global Education, spearheading global recruitment initiatives and tech enhancements. Her expertise encompasses business development, strategy, operations, marketing, and project management at Monash and Urbanest. Rebecca's leadership extends to roles in industry associations like the Student Accommodation Association and IEAA (past board member).

Mike Ferguson, IEAA-SF

Mike is Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Charles Sturt University and former Chair and Treasurer of the AUIDF. Prior to his role at Charles Sturt University, he held the role of Director for Global Student Recruitment at the University of Canberra. He has also worked in international education as an Australian Diplomat in New Delhi, as Director of International Education Policy for the Department of Home Affairs and as a Ministerial Advisor to Senator Michaelia Cash. Mike is an IEAA Fellow.

Daryl Fong

Daryl Fong is currently the Chief Operating Officer of AECC Global. Prior to that, he was one ofIDP’s most experienced staff members. Daryl joined IDP as the Assistant Representative in 1987,one year after the Australian Government introduced full fees for international students. He becamethe Manager of the Australian Education Centre in 1990. In 1995 he became the Country Directorof IDP Singapore. Throughout his career, he has built an extensive network contacts with both localand overseas institutions. He likes to bring that to AECC Global as he has worked and championed many institutions on numerous projects close to 30 years.

Woendi is the Director, International at the University of the Sunshine Coast where she leads the University’s international student recruitment, marketing, admissions, compliance, partnership and learning abroad operations. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the education sector across both Schools and Higher Education. She has earned an Australian Award for University Teaching and is an International Education Association of Australia Fellow. She represents the university sector on the New Colombo Plan Roundtable and is currently Deputy Chair & Treasurer of the Australian Universities International Directors’ Forum (AUIDF).

Most recently Beth headed up the Examination Unit for the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) focusing on future proofing their suite of exams & uplifting generative AI literacy at APC to optimise opportunities from AI for end-to-end exam management. Beth is currently working with the PTE Global Stakeholder Relations as a consultant. In all her work, Beth maintains a focus on quality, integrity and people. As a proponent of lifelong learning, the education sector is a natural fit for Beth. Tracey become Managing Director at AEAS in 2009, and over the past 15 years, has focussed on business development and growth.
